Don't cry, my little darling. I'm here; Grace is here. You're with me now. Everything's going to be all right. Grace is going to sing to you.(p.25)
This is a strange, but warm story. Can you image that our children are taken by someone, suddenly? I can't believe to do that. But, it really happened in this story.
Grace gave birth to a pretty girl. She became a mother and she was waiting for her husband to come back from his work as a soldier. However, an incident happened. A woman, Sue took the baby and said she grow the baby. In Sue's house, there was a window, and Grace was always looking her child from the window. However, Sue thought that it was a picture, so Grace could keep looking her daring baby. One day, the house was on fire. Grace embraced the baby and protected the daughter. Then a fireman got into the room. It was her husband, but he didn't notice, and he took the baby.
I think it is strange that the woman is over the window, and others get wrong it's a picture. However, I felt that her love to her daughter is so strong. Sue made a mistake to take child who is not hers, but I'm happy to see the baby laughing watching the picture at the window.
